What Would You Do?

I saw this the other day and it made me laugh!  According to the Lenten countdown calendar I am on day 30 of Lent with 16.47 days to go.  That is 30 days of no grains, dairy, sugars, beans or anything else that is truly tasty.  It makes me wonder on Easter Sunday, exactly what I would do for a Klondike bar? Or a Russell Stover coconut cream egg? Or a Lindt Chocolate Bunny? Or an Oreo? Or even a piece of toast with butter?  How about the rest of you?  Ever had a period of denial?  Handle it with grace, or pettiness (like I am doing right now)?

  1. I don't practice denial during Lent. However. I was very careful with my eating while I was pregnant. As soon as I delivered my first son, I asked the hospital for some bacon from the cafeteria and sent my husband out for some cookies. I can kind of relate what you're going through.

  2. Usually during Lent I practice denial, but it is limited to one thing, generally sugars. Right now I would really love toast!

  3. Grace? Not a word which anyone has ever used to describe me. Sigh. And good toast is a thing of joy and beauty.

    1. After 30 days of no grains, sugars, beans, dairy I really do want either toast or rice. It is kind of funny how cravings shift. And as much as I love them, I am sick of tangerines!

  4. I was once in the hospital with an infection and couldn't eat for ten days. Every commercial with food was pure torture.

  5. these days it doesn't matter what i say, no matter what the subject, my kids tease me with the answer "yes mum, you have no money"
so i guess that suggests i'm not exactly gracious about denial :)

  6. I must have been standing behind the door when the gene for graceful denial was passed out.

  7. LOL! I can usually last about 10 days on any type of deprivation. Though I once stuck to The Calcium Diet for a few months - you'd never know that now of course. Good luck!
