Appointments

This is just a little declaration to al of the people over the past 3 weeks who have scheduled times to meet me for various services, bids, repairs and thought it was fine to not show up and also not bother phoning or texting (Oh yes, you know who you are, phone, cable, termite bond guy, et al, and especially to the people who were supposed to meet me at the lake. My time driving back and forth and spending the night so I will be there at 7:30 for your scheduled appointment is so much less valuable than yours.)

“I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore!”

That is all.

  1. Wow!I've had late arrivals or last minute cancellations but never total no shows. I hope all have stiff competition and you can go elsewhere.

    1. The one today is the termite inspection from the company that holds our termite bond. I can get another bond but it would be 500 bucks up front with the yearly control payment. With the current company all we have is the yearly. I don't know if I am angry enough to fork over the 5 big ones for another company to bond us.

  2. I'm so sorry for you. I'm dealing with roofers and inspections and quotes, so I empathize.

    Love,

    1. Argh! The city inspectors are another altogether different irritant

  3. Ugh. That's awful! Can you leave reviews on Yelp or similar sites for these services? I don't know if this is something the Better Business Bureau would consider a "complaint" but there's that too. Sorry. It really sucks to wait and wait and wait...

    1. I am sure I could, but I don't want to lodge a formal complaint. I just want them to be somewhat timely.

    1. I am fairly dependable and I expect people I hire or use for services to be somewhat respectful of my time. Guess I need to believe in the tooth fairy too, huh?

  5. The same person gives me a time and never shows up or answers the phone. If he does not bring my live trap back that I lent him, I am going to call the county cops and report it as stolen.

    1. You know that commercial where peoples head explode in a cloud of purple smoke? That is what I feel like

  6. I have never had a service person like this fail to show. Then again, my husband insistes on doing nearly everything himself so my exposure is very small

  7. This is one of the most frustrating things in the world. Over they years these late/no shows have gotten better for me. It seems like the companies here are really trying to get rid of their old image. That doesn't mean that I don't wait sometimes, but they usually call.

I don't know what to say except to put on some good head exploding music and let your imagination run wild.

  8. Try being in your position dealing with service people AND being 5 states away! Such is my life right now....so I do feel your pain and echo your war cry.
Hang in there and keep all sharp objects out of reach. lolz

  9. And I thought that was just France! I will NEVER understand that mentality, and it drives me mad if I have to take a day off work to wait for them. I do feel it is getting a bit better though. I told my son (who is training to be a plumber) that as he is bilingual, if he shows respect, is on time and courteous he will have more work than he could ever imagine, and it will spread by word of mouth. Let's hope. Anna

  10. Oh I agree with what you told your son. I even understand complications and delays, but with cell phones it is so easy to get in touch with people to explain what is going on.

Hey y'all thanks for leaving a comment. They are much appreciated. I read them all and do my best to respond to them, except for trolls or spam and I delete those suckers forever.
