Positively Monday

These are some of the positives for this week.  It has been a mainly good week with few stresses.
Monday Back home from trip and all laundry was done before I went to bed!
Tuesday Fat Tuesday__Met cousins from San Antonio for lunch and laughs, then had book club at a local restaurant that evening.  Lots of fat in Fat Tuesday here plus the bonus of no cooking! And don't ask if I ate 3 chocolate chip cookies right before midnight.
Wednesday Lent begins with a time for reflection and no sugars
Thursday Got Mom's CAT scan and EEG done in just a couple of hours
Friday Woo hoo, bonus day!  I actually got over 4 hours sleep! (Been burning the candle at both ends this week and it has taken its toll.) At home date night where we caught up on the Showtime series Billions
Saturday Had a wonderful almost free afternoon at The Great Chili Cook Off.  Son2  performed a magic act and they gave him 6 tickets in exchange for his services. The event is a fundraiser for The Exceptional Foundation so all performers volunteer their time and talents. Since Son2 volunteers with special needs adults on an ongoing basis, this was a no brainer for him.  And we got to go and mill about with the thousands of others, sample an overwhelming amount of chili samples while enjoying music and sunshine. In addition, toward the end of the event,
I was sampling a couple of marinades.  The guy manning the booth asked me which was my favorite and when I told him he handed me a brand new bottle of blue cheese wing sauce.  If you have Moore's Marinades in your area I highly suggest it!
Sunday TheHub did not have to go into the office again this week so he was able to go to church with me. Oh and blueberry pancakes for dinner! Enough said!

Now on to a new week filled with possibilities.

  1. I need to keep having a positive attitude, but sine Tuesday is my struggle/crabby day, I might save for Tuesday. I am looking forward to a Saturday with no commitments, something to look forward to.

    1. Any day has the potential to be my crabby day, especially dealing with Mom, so I am trying hard to find sincerely good things every day.

  2. Thanks for the post I need to stay positive this week as it is a shoe week (hell week) and I want it over!

    1. The best thing about bad weeks is that they do pass!

  3. We had blueberry pancakes for dinner, too. Wasn't what was on the menu, but it was what we wanted. :-)

    1. Since I have vowed to do no grocery shopping this month except for bread, milk and salad stuff, I am trying to have several meatless dinners. With pancake mix in the pantry and blueberries in the freezer this was a no brainer.

    2. I'm pretty lucky that my family considers "breakfast for supper" to be one of their favorite meals. I make a big deal over how hard it is to fix...lol...they think they are getting a treat, and I am getting a break....kind of like the old Rice Krispy treats commercial. :-)

  4. It does look like your week was bursting at the seams with positives. Which is lovely. Four hours sleep is not enough though. Nap. Also a positive.

    1. 4 hours is not enough for me but I had things pushing at me from both sides of the clock. This is a much better week, and I would be doing myself an extreme kindness to be in bed every night at midnight.

  6. Sounds like a very good week. :) Blueberry pancakes sound yummy -- I was just looking at recipes for a dutch baby pancake filled with lemon curd and blueberries. YUM!

  7. Four hours of sleep is about half as much as I need. What do you consider enough sleep?

  8. I have always said you would never need to torture someone - just deprive them of sleep. And any new mother knows that of course. I get about 7 hours but ideally I would like 8. And I love busy weeks too - but all the more so when they are over! Anna

    1. Supposedly when POW's are captured they are deprived of sleep to " break" them. I can see how it works.

    1. It was nice to get the sauce, and it gives me another option on this "No Spend "grocery month.

  10. I always marvel at people having pancakes for dinner, it seems so decadent!
My husband thinks he hasn't eaten unless there is a cooked meal in front of him so no pancakes for me

    1. TheHub is pretty easy except for his recreational shopping at Publix habit! No matter what we have for dinner he is pretty good about it, and trust me there are a lot of meals that are simply fodder.
