I don't want to ruin all the good things that happened during the Whole30 experiment. I would say I am going back on it New Years Day, but I will be in New Orleans and I am not stupid enough to think I will begin it there. maybe I will start it again on the 5th. Meanwhile don't get in my way on Wednesday...it's sugar day for the week and I hear something chocolate calling me.Anne in the kitchenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01533249631969001657noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7388810380797297879.post-51810800821396979752014-12-15T23:02:20.886-08:002014-12-15T23:02:20.886-08:00Dawn, yes I know how brave I am, in fact I have be...Dawn, yes I know how brave I am, in fact I have been brave all of my life. My folks have a picture of me at 2 mixing cookies and eating bits of the dough. I guess I was always willing to put myself in danger just to taste test the cookie dough!Anne in the kitchenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01533249631969001657noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7388810380797297879.post-68414269123071822282014-12-15T08:34:07.127-08:002014-12-15T08:34:07.127-08:00This looks like something that then Den would love...This looks like something that then Den would love. I wonder if he would love to make it too? He made toffee this weekend and it is to die for. I'll just go on a diet on the 1st and not worry about it until then.Sonya Annhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01985227040902078422noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7388810380797297879.post-41491736066304875632014-12-14T02:52:42.696-08:002014-12-14T02:52:42.696-08:00I think my husband and daughter would go crazy for...I think my husband and daughter would go crazy for these- they are chocolate hounds! (My son and I are the vanilla-hounds!) :) They look really good. I have been looking for a good recipe for big soft sugar cookies- this looks like them, except a chocolate version. :)
PS- you are a very brave lady to risk the cookie dough! I've had to make that sacrifice several times myself, especially with chocolate chip cookie dough! ;)Dawn- Blessed Beyond Measurehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18380049127079259624noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7388810380797297879.post-23547546478030970612014-12-11T16:42:38.990-08:002014-12-11T16:42:38.990-08:00Makes sense. The baking powder as leavening has the mild acid flavor that buttermilk would provide. It really did taste like the sheet cake in cookie form. My only complaint was wasting chocolate chips that I didn't think added enough flavor to offset the cost.Anne in the kitchenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01533249631969001657noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7388810380797297879.post-1538139875945221032014-12-11T08:50:11.395-08:002014-12-11T08:50:11.395-08:00They are tasty and easy, Millie! I was very excited when I saw the title of your post, but was a bit skeptical when I read the recipe. While these might be perfectly good chocolate cookies, I didn't think they were going to be like TX Sheet Cake. The recipe I have uses buttermilk, for one. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to perfect this recipe. I eagerly await the next installment.
Live and Learnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13493777474885053903noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7388810380797297879.post-89658694626556244112014-12-11T02:23:41.848-08:002014-12-11T02:23:41.848-08:00Lunchroom chocolate sheet cake rocked!
