  1. You need a dinner with family and friends to come help you eat down the freezer and pantry. Your meals sound delicious, and proves how much we Americans have on hand at any given time. These exercises are essential to keep food waste in check. While my meals could get odd, I have no doubt if forced to, I could probably scrape together meals at least a month without having to (not just wanting to) step into a grocery store. I will say it would be lacking fresh fruit and vegetable and fresh dairy.

  2. Me too! And you're right they would be wonky meals but I could easily do it

  3. I do eat some strange meals when I am not going to shop, feel terrible, or just don't want to spend money for more food. When a meal is going to be strange, I usually eat the things that sort of go together and eat the odd thing either first or after the "main" meal.

Yes, I have used those tabs. And, the zipper always tears. I need to make a call to Ziploc.

    1. Anne,
Only the ones with Christmas designs from last year are tearing up as I open them. Your post reminded me at a time they were open. I think the first bag I opened of these ripped along the zipper. They want the box back to examine them.

    2. You're lucky if you still have them. I would have tossed them long ago.

    3. No, they want the remainder of the box. Actually, Sunday I did have one rip and thought it was back in the box.

  4. I don't think those bags have reached us yet.
It is scary how much food we 'salt away' isn't it? Says the woman who plans on picking rainbow chard today and freezing at least some of it.

    1. Yes it is frightening. I am making a concerted effort to eat leftovers, where normally I would just put them in a bag in the freezer for later.

  5. So, there's plenty more where that came from? Looks like there will some more good eating around your house in the near future.

  8. I'll have to look for those bags - they would be very handy. I'm not grocry shopping this week as Kazi is going away this weekend so I always scrounge when she's gone to save a few bucks. Every little bit helps.

    1. I eat weird stuff when it is just me here. Popcorn counts as a meal doesn't it?

  10. Sounds like you have a well-stocked freezer and pantry. A good thing if there is an emergency and you can't get to the grocery store.

    1. Right now I am over stocked and trying to eat it down so I will have a little more room when guests are here.
