"OK I know this is weird but do any of you have kids who would love a real life science experiment. Our hot tub has been leaking so we turned it off while waiting for the repair guy to see about it and then waited more for the parts. Meanwhile nature is having some fun and we have at least 6 tadpoles that are fairly close to becoming frogs. I am draining the tub right now and finding them as the water lowers. Anyone interested please message me. I don't want to kill them but since I no longer have a house full of boys I am out of the frog rearing business"
Well, aren't you the generous one? Ok, that was snarky. But it was said with love. So snarky love?
ReplyDeleteI would dump them in a pond. And it kind of scares me to think about what would grow in my pool if we left it.
The really interesting thing is how quickly it was.
DeleteI thought about dumping them in a near by pond, but thought I would try and give them a fighting chance first. I have 3 families that want some. The remaining one will go to the pond and probably become bass food
We need a frog update!!
DeleteI so want a hot tub. It would be wonderful and hopefully frogless. A hot tub is on the list but it is way down at the bottom.
Anne,
ReplyDeleteTry to convince one of the people that the one will be lonely. Do it where the kids will hear to insure you can give it away. You know how to do that. I already have a frog under my window keeping me awake and probably deposit tadpole material. Between the frog outside the window and the cricket inside the house at the window, I slept little one night until I retired the cricket. Keep us posted.
The people are late picking them up so I am having to run out and add cold water to the hot tub at regular intervals. Hot sun + shallow water = possible cooked tadpoles
ReplyDeleteOh the memories this post has stirred...
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen a frog in years. And miss them.
If only you lived closer EC, I could help you with your frog wishes!
ReplyDeleteI hope the tadpoles found a new home! We've been hearing frogs all over lately; that time of year, I suppose. Plus all the rain.
ReplyDeleteThe ones who are homeless are going to get caught, put in a bucket and taken to a pond tomorrow
DeleteI would have liked to have watched those tadpoles grow up. I'm glad you don't live closer because I probably would have taken them. Have nice of you to try to find them a good home.
ReplyDeleteIt has been fun, but the parts are in now and I really do want to get the hot tub in working order. Fall will be here soon and it will be a perfect time to use it.
