If this streak of nothingness continues, I am going to be sunk once December gets here.
Last week was filled with other things and I did not think of Christmas for even a minute. I might do better this week, or I might not.
Since I am not at the halfway mark yet, I am a little uninspired. Additionally I still have the "room of horrors" filled with all those blasted decorations looming over me. Maybe I will actually head upstairs to work this week or maybe I won't.
Good luck. I have confidence in you.
ReplyDeleteThere will be a day when I go upstairs and really dig in and get it done, but not today, or tomorrow, or probably the day after . . .
DeleteGood luck, I hope you start working on it soon. You will be happy with yourself.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure I will be once inspiration hits.
DeleteI think we all deserve pictures of the room of horrors.
ReplyDeleteI am a skillful avoider, but not up for public humiliation
DeleteThis made me laugh out loud — the "room of horrors" really says it all! It’s so relatable how the weight of holiday prep starts to creep in just as you're finally catching your breath from the last round. But honestly, you're ahead of most of us just by counting the weeks. Maybe one brave step into that upstairs chaos will spark a little inspiration... or at least a good story. Do you ever find that one random ornament that totally changes your mood?
ReplyDeleteYes I found a couple of ornaments that my parents had on their first Christmas tree ever
DeleteOh, will you, won't you? You are keeping us all in suspense, wondering!
ReplyDeleteThis week? Probably not, but next week is a different matter.
DeleteMy own today was less than productive.....and that's okay. How great we've got choices!
ReplyDeleteIt’s easy to get sidetracked with all the other things going on in life, and it sounds like Christmas is a little far off in your mind right now. But you’re right—34 weeks might feel like plenty of time, but it can slip by faster than expected! It’s understandable that with the "room of horrors" looming, it’s hard to feel motivated. But maybe just taking small steps—like organizing a few decorations at a time—could make it less overwhelming when the time comes.
ReplyDeleteDon’t be too hard on yourself for not diving into it just yet. Sometimes the inspiration hits when you least expect it. I’m sure when you do decide to tackle it, it’ll all come together nicely!

I am really not hard on myself at all, but trying to be honest about my weekly attempts or lack of attempts about getting ready for the big day.
DeleteIf you keep finding other things to do other than work on Christmas, then you will be like the rest of us when December rolls around. :)
ReplyDeleteI have always been one who kind of blends with the crowd!
DeleteIt will all still be there when you're ready.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I know that is true!
DeleteAgree, Kim!!
ReplyDeleteNot going to happen!
DeleteI've only had Christmas pop up in my brain due to our asparagus harvest. I am so happy with the discovery of a substitute for the old traditional green bean casserole. Other than that, and advent gifts, I'm not really focused on Christmas. More so garden season, as it's up on us now.
ReplyDeleteHappy May.
