Yep, nothing is about what I have done this week toward Christmas prep. I did have a phone call with Sluggy and she suggested I might want to go upstairs and work in the room of horrors, but nope. I decided I had much rather work in the butler's pantry and laundry room. Actually, anything other than working upstairs!
Besides, Son1's family will not be here until mid-June and since they stay upstairs I still have time to get it done. However knowing my penchant for procrastination I imagine I will be upstairs sorting and packing the day before they arrive. Procrastination is my super power.
And I almost lied, I did download a Christmas magazine from my Libby app. The cover was so pretty and I thought I might get an idea or two from it. Unfortunately I was in bed with no glasses when I downloaded it, and it turned out to be a Christmas quilting book. Needle arts are not in my lane, so it was deleted pretty quickly.
Summery for the past week
Christmas ideas -none
Christmas recipe tried- none
Christmas magazines read-none
Christmas books read-none
I am not giving up, but I am not doing anything about it right now.
The Beatles singing on Shindig, reminded of the white shindig books of the '60s. When I was in third grade, I desperately wanted a pair, but my mother wouldn't go for it.
ReplyDeleteI wanted them too! I still don't have any!
DeleteBelieve it or not, I was singing snatches from that very song last night. (Where these tunes come from, I've no idea!)
ReplyDeleteI love music and listen to all kinds most of the time, so songs swirl in and out of my head all the time.
DeleteI forget why you're counting down Christmas. Were you just feeling unprepared and didn't enjoy last year? I'm going for simplicity this year ( well last year and year before too).
ReplyDeleteTheHub and I were both sick until about 2 weeks before Christmas and I missed not having everything decorated and done. Also my BIL was in the hospital for a few months and I missed having Christmas with them. I just want this one to be better and something to enjoy.
DeleteI'm a loser baby...why don't you kill me....
ReplyDeleteI am slowly but surely riding the complacency wave
DeleteI just read your comment on leaving comments. I don't like this new AI thing. I lost a blog post this week after AI attempted to take over what I was writing and I could not get it back, ugh, it was so frustrating! I did put two Christmas items in my Christmas bin while I was straightening my bedroom this week, so that counts, right?! LOL
ReplyDeleteAny progress is progress. I count everything except the stupid Christmas Quilting magazine
DeleteI am confident that your Christmas preparation WILL happen. I am less confident about it happening here.
ReplyDeleteIt will happen one way or another. I just want to be ready for whatever I decide to make of it.
DeleteI'd consider deciding that the quilting book was not for you was an action of sorts; you've decided that you were not going to make any Christmas quilts or quilted gifts. :)
ReplyDeleteNow I like that alternative reasoning!
DeleteCan't believe that May is almost over...my cellar is now FREE of anything X'mas decoration. We are selling lots of science fiction booklets that my husband has collected over the years. I want my cellar back!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe Christmas is right around the corner. I want to hear more about the room of horrors!
