Welcome October

Below is what I managed to get rid of in September  when I was doing some decluttering

GOODWILL DONATIONS

25 polo shirts
6 knit shirts
8 sweaters
6 casual long sleeve shirts
3 dress shirts
1 suit
1 sports coat'

WOMENS:
35 pieces costume jewelry
5 blouses
2 pr. shorts
1 pr. slacks (never worn)
1 jean jacket
7 sleeveless blouses
1 pr shoes (never worn)
9 dresses (2 never worn)

BUY NOTHING FACEBOOK
HALLOWEEN DECOR:
2 decorative pumpkins
2 yard tombstones
2 skull lawn edging pieces
3 piece "I  Smell Children" porch boards
3 Sanderson Sister figures
1 Halloween wreath
3 plastic rats
1 bat lantern

MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS:
20 heavy duty plastic clothes hangers*
32 velvet clothes hangers*

The sad thing is this is just a drop in the bucket when I look at all the things I need to get rid of. I hope October will bring much more decluttering.

* Who would have ever thought there would be such a demand for clothes hangers? I figures I would have maybe one person at best who wanted them. I was wrong!

  1. You and your husband did really well with your decluttering! I have a goal of decluttering 10 items a day in October; maybe you'll join me?

    1. I wasn't even trying to sell the clothes hangers. I just wanted to get rid of them and was surprised at how many people wanted them.

  3. We finally got rid of many of my husband's work clothes earlier this year. He definitely didn't need most of them, not to mention the ones that didn't fit. I have a closet full of decluttered stuff that needs to be donated. I'll get to that soon. Maybe.

    1. TheHub still has a boatload of clothes, but this was a big first step for him. I hope the next time we can get rid of much more. I tend to get rid of things seasonally, so I did not have a lot to sort through. I am also not a clothes/shoe horse.

  4. Maybe a guy who needs nice work clothing will come across all your husband's clothing. That is a lot to declutter. Did you manage to free up one of his four closets?

    1. None of the closets are empty of his clothing, but one of the closets was so full you could not get the hangers to slide down the rod to accommodate even one more hanger. It is better now.

  5. Great job. I'm a tortoise rather than a hare so it's very slow going for me, but it feels so "freeing" when it's gone, doesn't it. And the odd thing (to me) is that once I get rid of that "essential thing", I never seem to think about it ever again!

  6. I try to declutter on a weekly basis. I just got rid of a few more books. I do need to tackle clothing soon. We have yet to clean out the garage.
