The 41st week before Christmas is now in the books. Did I get something done? Yes. Was it as much as I planned or hoped for? Nope. So what's new?
I located a few new (to me) Christmas books through my Libby app. In one of them I found instructions for something I plan on making for my DIL's. I am not saying anything about what it might be in here because they sometimes read my blog and I don't want any spoilers.
The upside is I can make most of it right now with just a little hand work needed as Christmas nears.
It will not be a big gift, just a little “add in “present because I really do like to have multi gifts for each person.
I decided to create a Christmas folder on might computer as well as my hard copy that I am creating. It make saving the digital ideas I find so much easier.
And once again I successfully managed to avoid doing a single thing in the terrible room filled with remnants of holidays past. I would like to figure out what is wrong with me, other than “ out of sight, out of mind “.
I am still not worried because there are many weeks left to get it done, but I need to get my rear in gear and get it done. Maybe this week, but probably not. And now begins the 40th week before Christmas. Get thee behind me procrastination!
The only Christmas-related thing I did this week was stand in front of the shelves of Christmas/winter themed fabrics at the fabric store and look at them! They were 20% off, but, with the original prices being $9.99/yd. and up, the discount wasn't sufficient to make me want to buy them.
ReplyDeleteI hope I get to JoAnn's before they close to possibly score some Christmas fabric.
DeleteSame plus the store I was at had a minimum of 2 yards cut. So I bought a nice backing material and some zippers. I am still on the lookout for a replacement Joseph.
DeleteI hope you can find Joseph. You nstill have a lot of time to search for him.
DeleteGet to the terrible room! And I mean now!!! Don't make me crawl out from underneath a house and drink Irish coffee with you!
ReplyDeleteIwill get to it after we get back from our trip. Right now I am having to work on changing over my clothes because I am not sure my current wardrobe will work in a tropical setting.
DeleteCome down and I will supply the Irish coffee
You're not cleaning your holiday room because it's a tedious job and the world won't stop turning if it doesn't happen. That's how I explain all of the tasks I'm meaning to get to, but haven't. In the meantime, I'm impressed that you are being so proactive for next Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI agree it is tedious, and there are a million things I had rather do. The room is never used, is upstairs, and no one but TheHub and I see it. If I shut the door even we don't see it.
DeleteI like your excitement already for Christmas which is months away. However, there's no harm in planning early.
ReplyDeleteI was sick through the holidays this past year and missed the excitement of getting ready for it, plus we did no entertaining. I am going to do everything I can to make this year wonderful.
DeleteI enjoy looking for "add in" presents all year, but what? Only 41 weeks remaining? I'm late already.
ReplyDeleteMy add on's are usually specific to what each person needs. One son has a full beard, so a bottle of beard oil is a usual gift. They are always simple inexpensive things like that
DeleteYesterday I realized that there were still four Christmas decorations sitting in my office. I looked at them and said, "why are you in here? why aren't you in the attic?" None of them answered!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are making good strides to plan the upcoming Christmas. I am so thrilled that my husband took me to the Christmas shop we recently visited. It was so beautiful, and brought my love for the holiday back.
ReplyDeleteYou are going to have the most spectacular Christmas ever! Plus, I love that you're focused on the spirit of giving all year long.
ReplyDeleteI’m really enjoying the Libby app here. I’ve read several books recently and you sure can’t beat the price. 😂
