Oh No Just 31 Weeks Till Christmas

N-O-T-H-I-N-G, that was Christmas done by me

NOTHING... ABSOLUTELY NOTHING

I didn't look at a Christmas book, magazine, planner, recipe and I dang well did not look in the room of horrors to get all my Christmas stuff sorted, organized, packed, or discarded.

I've been busy doing other things that I wanted to do__like reading, but that is about to change.

I have just 2 weeks until the beach trip and after that Son1 and Pip are coming back here for a week. DIL1 is flying in to the beach part of the trip, but has to get back to work and can't take the extra week off. I hate she can't come here too but I certainly understand.

I need to have the entire upstairs in company shape by then, which unfortunately includes that blasted room, so starting today, or maybe tomorrow, Saturday at the latest, or at the very least by Sunday or Monday I need to get my rear in gear whether I want to or not.  Bums me out!!!

I hope I will be able to post a 30 weeks until Christmas post with a huge room announcement that it is done, but with a full week before it HAS to be finished, and my exceptional procrastination skills, it may not happen.

Will things  change? Only time will tell.

  1. I'm horrible if I don't have a deadline. it needs to be a real deadline, not just one I strive for. This whole not accountable to anyone thing in retirement means I'm not accountable to anyone. I feel like you'll get your room mastered before your guests arrive. Is this Pip's room that is the storage?

    1. The room is Pip's former room here, which was once my office. It is right at the top of the stairs and was a perfect place when she was tiny and needed to be the first room to access from the main level of the house. She has since relocated to one of the other bedrooms upstairs.

  4. Nothing like company coming to kick things into gear. Works here every time.

  6. Hahaha you have the countdown going! I have a long to-do list of things I wanted to get done this week that I didn't get to either. Hoping to start fresh on Monday! I really need to fix the privacy fence in my backyard, so that is first on the list. Good luck with your organization!

    1. I sit and watch the weeks flow by, doing very little until I absolutely have to.

  7. We have a saying at home, something like plans can't keep up with changes...so, no harm done :-))

    1. No harm is done until things are not done. I am running out of time with the room.

  10. Some things need a deadline. I am confident most of it will be done. The rest can be hidden under the bed, in the closet, or elsewhere in the house.

    1. True about hiding, and I have a lot of hiding spaces in my house.

    1. I want to start making small batches of some recipes I have never tried before. This year I want to have multi types of cookies and candies to have plated as a little extra when we have guests during the holidays. Because were were sick a good part of December, we missed having company last Christmas.

  12. You could make the penguins on my blog and serve to your guests. I never made them! And, I may never. I have to clean out a bedroom so contractor can convert it to a bathroom. Nothing happens until the room is empty! Someone I paid to help me destroyed all my organization and mixed donate, sell, keep, and trash into one gigantic pile!

    1. I have decided I could easily get rid of 75 percent of what I own and would hardly notice it was gone.
