When Son3 was young he overheard me calling My Beloved Sister one day and wanted to know why I had called her, disguised my voice and said "Beware the Eyes of March"
So whether today summons your inner Caesar or inner Warby Parker, watch out for your Ides or Eyes!
Now, that is hilarious. I was always amused and amazed what my children "heard."
ReplyDeleteYep me too!
DeleteOh know now I am worried about the day. What is going to happen....
ReplyDeleteAs long as you don't have friends named Brutus you will probably be ok
DeleteWe members of the Latin Club wore black arm bands in mourning on the Ides of March.
ReplyDeleteI was in the Latin Club also but we did nothing but curse Caesar for having to translate his war commentaries.
DeleteBig smiles. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. Every year now I think of the eyes of march
DeleteEyes of March puts a whole new spin on it. I'll have to remember that.
ReplyDeleteIt is fun for me to remember.
DeleteThat's too funny! One of my cousins has a birthday on the "Eyes" of March! My daughter played the part of Brutus in her high school Drama production, one year - maybe I should have been a bit worried, yesterday?
ReplyDeleteHaha! Maybe next year is the year you need to worry about the Eyes!
Deletelol!! I love hearing a kids take on normal sayings!
