What a Difference a Day Makes (None, Still Cleaning)

Continuing my cleaning for company journey, today I am starting in the laundry room. moving to the dining room, then heading upstairs. Do I want to? Nope! But I pretty much have to get things organized so I can move a bed and night stand from one room to another.

After I get Son3's (AKA Red) former bedroom emptied I will have to run to the lake place, grab the queen bed from the guest room there and truck it back home to put in the hopefully ready room. (Wednesday or Thursday , fingers crossed) I am finding a little resistance to my plan but I am lucky enough to have a teeny tiny friend with a big ass truck. Martha told me to just give her a call and we will have a little adventure, so I will call her and get the room set up myself. It is easier than arguing about it.

Dining Room

Move double bed from Red's old room
Clean sink in the Jack and Jill  bathroom

Mom
Of course now that I am in the middle of this major cleaning she decided to alter a dress for the wedding. I just got a phone call and since she doesn't drive anymore she NEEDS me to come (right this minute) and see if it will work. BTW my beloved sister and I have been talking to her about altering this since August. Yep this makes me really happy.

Now I need to run to Mom's so I can come hope and get some serious cleaning done.

  2. I wondered how your mother was doing. That is funny about the friend with the truck. Sometimes, it is just easier to get a female friend to help than convince a guy. Ask me how I know.

  3. wow, you are really getting those lists cut down! I feel bad for your mum,, I haven't been able to drive since my head injury and I tell you, its one of the worst things to lose. I have lost and given up a lot due to my brain injury but not being to hop in the car and go when you want is paramount. I feel for her,,

    1. I am sad for her for that also. This was her decision but one we fully support. I know the loss of independence is hard, but she will accept no help except for my sister's and mine. She has the means to hire someone one day a week to be at her disposal and cart her anywhere. I am willing but I did tell her due to wedding prep and guests I am unavailable for the next couple of weeks. I am waiting for a call about her next "emergency"

  4. After your company leaves, then it's time for you to get to work on my house. You need a fun time in Florida.

    Love,
    Janie

  6. Good luck. And yes, I am smiling broadly at the 'it is easier than arguing about it'. So true. So very true.

    1. TheHubs solution is to buy an inflatable air mattress. That would be fine for a night but they are going to be here for a week, and the bed at the lake is seriously comfortable. Getting it just makes sense to me.

  7. Ok now I know I'm really a slob. There are things on your list I would never have thought of. A bit late now but could you not have got professional cleaners in? I know you will cook up a storm and probably enjoy it but you have to be able to enjoy this wedding too. But well done on all you have accomplished!

Happy decluttering! You have accomplished a lot.

    1. I know I will eventually, but this is not fun and my list grows as I work through what I thought about. I need a fairy cleanmother!

  10. Since your mother will accept help from no one except you and sister, could you tell her she will have to pay to have things done at your house? She would rather let go of money than you two helpers. You could pick out something that you do that a cleaner could do. It could be something outdoors that you have to let go because you are at her house too much, something like cleaning patio or walks. It would be just enough to ease your burden of being gone to her house. Hire a fairy cleanmother for your house. Or, hire someone to take to her house. That way, she could still feel secure and more could be accomplished at her house.

  12. I hope you were able to attend to your mother's needs in the middle of everything else you have to do, Anne.
