All Dressed Up And Nowhere To Go

Ugh! Right now I am feeling trapped and am sort of pacing between the kitchen and laundry room. Church has been canceled for at least the next two weeks and Sunday afternoons we usually go to the movies. Not today though. We are just hanging out at the house.and though I do not want to give up living like I normally do, normal is changing rapidly here in The States.

We had several events scheduled for this weekend and next week and all have been cancelled, except for the touring Broadway play (and I look for a notification that it is cancelled soon). If not, then next Sunday I will be seeing Waitress.

So now I wonder, do I clean the laundry room which needs a good stem to stern cleaning, do I prep a lot of foods to fill my already overstuffed freezer,  work in the yard which is filled with blowing pollen, have an in house beauty day with self manicures and facial masks, or do I make a cup of coffee and go binge watch some Netflix series?
Binge watching sounds best to me!

Meanwhile I will leave you all with a Facebook post I saw today. It hit home with me.

  1. Life has definitely altered...not sure how long for but I hope it is shorter than it looks. Hugs

  2. Hooray for the list of non-cancellations - which sound pretty important to me.
And sigh on the cleaning which is also not cancelled. Never cancelled. Never done.

    1. Though cleaning is never done, I did manage to avoid it today! Looks like I am going to have a lot of time at home to clean!

  3. It's the new normal, as they say. I'd take binge watching over cleaning, any day! :D

    1. Yes, though instead of binge watching today I cooked__keto dessert type things so it was fun!

  4. Do you really want to clean? lol I would say go out while it is not raining. I cannot get into leaves at all or brush because of allergies. But, sitting is nice.

    1. Nope I did not want to clean. I need to start cleaning out some of the veggie spots for planting though.

  5. I am afraid, I have cancelled friends. Self-isolation is my preference at this stage.

    1. Because TheHub is going to be in the office (about 200 people work in his building) there is no way I am going to be isolated. But I understand self isolation!

  6. I agree! I've spent the day watching previously recorded programs. Tomorrow I'll get back to cleaning and painting and all the other stuff I have to do. While I do have to go get cat litter, I'm usually the only customer in the store so I'm not too worried.

    Stay well!

    1. I am thinking of doing the 7 day trial for Disney Plus. My adult sons say it is great and it would at least give me something different to watch at night since we can't go anywhere, because nothing is happening. Plus I am a sucker for Lady and the Tramp and The Jungle Book.

  7. My goodness! The lives of people who are accustomed to going places are really different. It's a good thing I stay at home a lot so it's not much of a change for me. I hope you get to see Waitress. Maybe it will just be postponed. I haven't seen the Broadway show, but I love the movie.
    Pamper yourself!

    Love,
    Janie

    1. We do go places and do things and being stuck at home is not fun. But if I am totally honest, I am not upset the Heart Ball was postponed. I was not in the mood to get all gussied up to go to a fund raiser. I feel sorry for people who are getting married. My uncle was telling me about his friends daughter who has been planning her wedding (no expense spared) for over a year. It is to be next weekend and people who were invited are cancelling at an unprecedented rate.

    2. Oh, dear. If it's one of those $100 a plate receptions, then I hope they can work out something with the caterer.

  9. I am by nature a home body, so being stuck in the house is the opposite of torture for me. That being said, however, people in Spain are NOT ALLOWED to leave their houses and they are patrolling by DRONE! I sat in my backyard yesterday hoping I will still be able to do that in a week. Also concerned how I will walk my dog if we are eventually/possibly not allowed to go outside. I have to report to work Mon - Wed of this week. Feeling very vulnerable and scared right now. Stay safe.

  10. I read an article yesterday that the movie theaters really took a hit this weekend and didn't make very much money at all. When we saw a movie last Wednesday we were the only ones in the theater.

  11. I'm wearing handmade ugly clothes today. Who's going to see them?! Might as well get some use out of old mistakes...

    1. You are right about that. Instead I am here all made up with my hair done and no where to go. Why?
