Rain, Rain, Go Away

This morning I woke and had to get with it to be ready for our day. We left home early and did not get back until late. I should have taken the time to hit publish when I woke Saturday morning, but I didn't. So this is barely going to be published as my usual Saturday joy post. Sue me! I was just too busy to fiddle with the laptop.

Saturday: TheHub worked again, so I hung out at the house until he got home. Then we decided to head out, with no destination in mind, just to get out of the house for a little bit. It did start raining while we were out, but that was OK. I don't drive a convertible so the rain was mainly just a nuisance.

Sunday: The weather was less than stellar and TheHub went to the office for most of the morning. I got lost in a book and did nothing but read. It was rainy and cooler so I sat on the porch with the fan going. I do like rocking and reading.
We had surprise company when Son 2, Dil2 and TGS appeared at the door. I am glad I had put a huge pot roast in the crockpot Sunday morning. It was great to have enough to share.

Monday: I got a lot of our meal prep for the week done, which was not much because we had 2 planned  out to eat meals for the week.

Tuesday. It was still raining, so I just accepted the it was a message from the universe that I should rock and read some more. I love it when the universe talks to me like that.

Wednesday: I did some catting around and went to several stores to get some needed/wanted things. The best part of going out and about was that I only got sprinkled on and got home before the gully washer hit.
TheHub worked very late and I was not about to cook then. Instead we had a light alfresco dinner at a local neighborhood joint.,

Thursday: Talked with Sluggy. Send positive thoughts to her as she finishes the packing for the move.
The sun did break through for a little while, then the sky opened like someone had turned on a faucet.

Friday: I planned a Hocus Pocus party for late September, and decided on the needed decorations. I have to start painting right away!
We met cousin S and her husband D, along with Son2,DIL2, and TGS for dinner in a different part of town. It was raining at our house, but 20+ miles away the sky was clear and the sunset was gorgeous. Plus the food, conversation and company were wonderful.

That wraps up my week of joys. Have a great week finding yours, however small. They are always out there!

May all your weeds be wildflowers,
Anne

  3. The torrential rain here the last two nights has disrupted my sleep - hence my 3:21 comment. As dry as it was though, the rain is finally sticking into rather than just running off the lawn. I'm preparing for my joys, but also had an impromptu outing with friends last night.

    1. Hocus Pocus is releasing a sequel 9/30. I am just having a small gathering on the 29th because I can. Additionally the decorations will become part of my Halloween decor.

    1. I know can you believe it is about to start. I actually watched some of the Vandy game last night just to get a little SEC momentum going.

  6. This is the wettest and most disruptive August! But, reading makes it right.

  7. I like the idea of rocking and reading. I do that when it's snowing here!

    1. On the rare occasion (every 10 years or so) when it snows I sit and do nothing but watch it. Snow is magical to me.

  8. I think I may have to buy a rocker. :) Definitely a good week with lots of reading and time with family too.

  9. Back in 2002 I left Florida for Arizona b/c (in large part) I was sick of the rain. Unfortunately, the next 16 years in that giant kitty litter box from H*** cured me. I actually enjoy the humidity.

  10. Rocking and reading sounds lovely! I think I need to get rid of my living room side chair and replace it with a rocking chair! Wish we had some of your rain!

    1. We also have a rocker/recliner in the den. I don't ever get to use it at night because TheHub occupies it, but in the winter some days I rock and read by the fireplace.

  11. It's raining here too. I'm OK with it because I don't have to water plants now. :)
