This seems like an appropriate song for today, "Salt Peanuts"
I will be honest and say out loud for the world to hear__I hate candy corn, unless . . .
Candy Corn
Salted cocktail peanuts
Peanut m&m's
Plain m&m's
Place all in a covered bowl. Shake to mix. Put some in a small bowl. Eat. Try to stop eating.

I hate candy corn also, wax sugar but I put it on cupcakes.
ReplyDeleteI guess we all choose what makes it acceptable
DeleteI am not that fond of candy corn, myself, but that bowl of candies and peanuts looks delicious! I wouldn't be able to stop eating!
ReplyDeleteTheHub puts it in a small glass and just tips it up
DeleteLOL, Tommy would eat it that way, too. He eats things not meant to be eaten from a glass.
DeleteI love candy corn, and this recipe would only make me fall deeper in love with the stuff.
ReplyDeleteIt tastes like a payday with chocolate mixed in.
DeleteUgh! I thought they were lemon/orange flavored. The first time I put one in my mouth, I couldn't believe it. Pure sugar!
ReplyDeleteyep
DeleteI can't stand them either, but put them in front of me and I still snack on them. Doesn't even make any sense! I can see how this idea would be addictive. I love sweet and salty together!
ReplyDeleteIt's the sweet salty combo with chocolate that makes it great.
DeleteCandy corn is rare in Australia - but still appears occasionally. Particularly around Halloween, which is something we really don't celebrate (despite the efforts of the big stores to get us in).
ReplyDeleteCandy corn is available year round here in small packages but at Halloween they blow out the big bags.
DeleteI hear you can microwave it to make a sort of Butterfinger filling....then just dip in chocolate and pretend you are eating my fav candy bar.
ReplyDeleteWalgreens has a Turkey Dinner candy corn bag....it's all the flavors of a Thanksgiving dinner depending on what color each "corn" is. Some are truly disgusting from what I hear.
Turkey dinner candy corn sounds so bad, but if I see it I imaging now that I know about it I will buy it just to gross myself out.
DeleteI like candy corn in small doses. So, I try not to buy it because I don't need the sugar.
ReplyDeleteI am not a fan unless it has all these additions.
DeleteI'm not a huge candy corn eater, but I could get behind that mix.
ReplyDeleteIt takes it to a totally different level
DeleteFirst time I had it I thought it was gross but in the end I ate it anyways. it's sugar, right? I wouldn't go buy it to make this mix tho
ReplyDeleteThe only time I buy it is once each fall. I make this and then we are done for the year
DeleteI like candy corn okay, but it's one of the sweets I can avoid. But I wouldn't be able to avoid this combo.
ReplyDeleteIt is delicious and deadly.
DeleteAwesome! I need to make this for a friend!
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty tasty!
DeleteHilarious! I'm one of those rare people who don't mind them, but your idea would make them even better. :)
ReplyDeleteI can't stand candy corn by itself, but this is just a totally different taste, texture and it has chocolate!
DeleteI am not even sure of my thoughts on candy corn. I mean, it is pure sugar, mushed together inot a fun shape. I don't normally just chew on sugar! But when in a snack mix, it has appeal. Same as the little orange pumpkins-adorable, but hmmm.
ReplyDeleteI dislike the little pumpkins even more than I do candy corn, probably because it is just thicker. But mix stuff in and it is a game changer
DeleteYummy! Candy corn is like those orange circus peanuts, you can only eat one or two before they make you sick. LOL And homemade trail mix is so much cheaper than store bought.
ReplyDeleteI would not exactly call this trail mix. I can't imagine hikers carrying this, but it is deadly sitting around the house.
DeleteSweet and salty--so good.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
It is the combo that makes it tasty.
DeleteI'm a chocolate gal all the way- don't care for any of the sour jelly type things either. My kids all loved Jolly Ranchers ick. Luckily none cared for coconut so at Halloween I got all their Almond Joy candy bars. My sis has a great recipe for Mounds bars- maybe later on we can post candy recipes yum HeeHee.
ReplyDeleteI think the chocolate in here is what makes me like it so. much (too much)
