What's for Dinner? Who Really Knows!

I plan and sometimes I make what I planned and sometimes I go off script and make whatever mood hits either me or TheHub. And sometimes I say to heck with it and we grab takeout. No matter which option I choose, we eat every single day so it is all good. This week, like every week, I cooked some of what I intended and punted the rest of the time.

What I planned:
1. Firecracker Chicken, rice or caulirice, broccoli
2. Stuffed bell peppers, coleslaw, green beans
3. Pasta Carbonara, tossed salad
4. Chicken chowder,  tossed salad, rolls
5. Chili, coleslaw, cornbread
6. Take out
7. pork chops, collards, cornbread

What we actually ate:
(Stuff happened each and every day but I forgot to write it down, and if I didn't record it, did it really happen?)
Monday: Pasta Carbonara, tossed salad, wine toasts for a happy visit and safe travels
Tuesday:  Bojangles chicken dinner
Wednesday: Chili, coleslaw. cornbread
Thursday: Pork chops, steamed cabbage
Friday: Take out again La Fiesta fajitas or chili rellenos
Saturday: Rotisserie chicken, coleslaw
Sunday: Stuffed bell pepper, pickled okra

And going forward this is what could possibly
happen this week:
1.Spaghetti, tossed salad, broccoli
2. Squash Casserole, coleslaw, peas. collards, cornbread
3. Goulash over steamed cabbage shreds, rolls, cuke onion and tomato salad
4. Chicken chowder, rolls, pickled green beans (Thanks Kitchen Riffs)
5. Tuna steaks, mashed potatoes (or caulimash) tossed salad, roll
6. Firecracker chicken, green beans, tossed salad, rolls ( Thanks to Martha for the link)
7. Take-out

Have a great week staying on plan, going off plan, or with no plan at all!

  1. Have fun.
My nausea continues so food and its preparation has less than no appeal at the moment. Because some of my medication has to be taken with food I will probably continue to live on fruit salad (we are in a heat wave). Himself is eating (and enjoying) left overs and will go away for a few days - where he will be well fed by family.

  2. Thank you for linking one of my all time favorite songs!

Your planned meals and actual meals both sound very good to me! I need to figure out what we are having for dinner tonight and take something out of the freezer to thaw!

    1. The most difficult thing for me is to remember to take something out of the freezer. I have a ton of food but it does no good if it is icy and rock hard!

  3. You got a few things in there last week, and looks like great possibilities for this week. I hope you like the firecracker chicken if you have a chance to make it :)

    1. The firecracker chicken is in the oven as I type this. Not sure how it will taste but it smells delicious!

  4. I'm back to low carb dieting with hubs. So meat and veggies here no treats.

  5. I don't really plan for meals, other than making sure I have the ingredients around to make a few things. Once I've made plenty of something good, I don't mind eating the same thing for several days.

    Love,
    Janie

  6. Love SDJ songs, great video, thanks! I had to Google Bojangles chicken dinner, and see it's a restaurant chain, haven't heard of it, don't remember seeing it in the South, but it sounds mighty good. Sounds like you have a great plan too!
