The Bard said it best in his play "Twelfth Night"
"If music be the food of love, play on"
Let's skew his meaning a bit and see just where the love of food and the love of music takes us.

Because I Live In Alabama
This has become a song I share every year at Christmas. I figure since the south (Alabama in particular) has the reputation of being in-bred rednecks I might as well continue to perpetuate that myth.
When I am warned there will be rampant overdrinking, cursing, and maybe a few fights, I will not attend. They also had dogs and cats all over the place who thought the tables were for them. It was just too much. Besides, I had an invitation with interesting, civilized people already.
I hope you have a lovely Christmas. My HVAC guy was here on Wed for a furnace repair before the temperatures in the 20s. He was wearing shorts and a hoodie. Now that's a Southern man.
Lol…since I am from six generations of folks from north Alabama and feel like I am a true Appalachian hillbilly, I love this! I like to play along with the myths also. Merry Christmas! Cindy in the South
Hey y'all thanks for leaving a comment. They are much appreciated. I read them all and do my best to respond to them, except for trolls or spam and I delete those suckers forever.
I have known this caliber of folk. I declined their invitation to Thanksgiving and Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI know some folks who are somewhat like this and I enjoy being with them.

Today is the first day I have ever seen my next door neighbor in long pants. His norm for winter is shorts and a hoodie.
DeleteHa ha, that song. I'm sure none of it's true! Merry Christmas Anne!
ReplyDeleteOh there is always some truth in every myth!
DeleteNever heard of that song before, made me smile. Merry Christmas Anne!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you too!
DeleteOh, funny. Well the people I've met sure don't seem to align with the stereotype but it's good to laugh
ReplyDeleteThe jokes on them.
There are variations of that culture in every area of the world. I say enjoy them for what they are.
DeleteLol…since I am
