Because I Live In Alabama

This has become a song I share every year at Christmas. I figure since the south (Alabama in particular) has the reputation of being in-bred rednecks I might as well continue to perpetuate that myth.

Enjoy

  1. I have known this caliber of folk. I declined their invitation to Thanksgiving and Christmas.

    2. When I am warned there will be rampant overdrinking, cursing, and maybe a few fights, I will not attend. They also had dogs and cats all over the place who thought the tables were for them. It was just too much. Besides, I had an invitation with interesting, civilized people already.

  3. Happy Christmas. Thanks for my early morning smiles. And also thank you for your beautiful (and unexpected) card that arrived yesterday.

  4. I hope you have a lovely Christmas. My HVAC guy was here on Wed for a furnace repair before the temperatures in the 20s. He was wearing shorts and a hoodie. Now that's a Southern man.

    Love,
    Janie

    1. Today is the first day I have ever seen my next door neighbor in long pants. His norm for winter is shorts and a hoodie.

  7. Oh, funny. Well the people I've met sure don't seem to align with the stereotype but it's good to laugh
    The jokes on them.

    1. There are variations of that culture in every area of the world. I say enjoy them for what they are.

  8. Lol…since I am
from six generations of folks from north Alabama and feel like I am a true Appalachian hillbilly, I love this! I like to play along with the myths also. Merry Christmas! Cindy in the South

  11. Merry Christmas Anne. I have to say that is the most unusual Christmas song I have ever heard. It did make me smile...
