I know some of you are dry, parched and blazing. It is anything but dry here.
How Mom's backyard looks on a normal day. The creek bed is about 30 feet from the tree on the left.
From this angle the tree on the left is now the tree on the right and is about 5 feet from the water
Will trade a couple of dry days for a couple of inches of rain!
That is a lot of water! I will trade for a few dry days, too. I watch the news of Birmingham and amazed by flooding.
ReplyDeleteI saw there was a lot of flooding in Hueytown too.
DeleteWow.
ReplyDeleteSome global weather moderation would be nice.
It has been extremely wet here so far this summer
DeleteI'll trade our parched dry days for a couple of inches of rain! I'd even throw in a few zucchini to sweeten the deal! :D
ReplyDeleteI wish I could send you a little!
DeleteOh wow, I'm sorry. Hope you have some dry days soon.
ReplyDeleteOur weather has been pretty average so far. It has been hot, but we have had some rain so not too dry.
We have had a to of rain and extremely mild temperatures for Alabama, so far. But yesterday's rain was a gullywasher.
DeleteHas the creek ever made it to the house?
ReplyDeleteNo, the house is probably 20 feet above the creek level with a pretty large yard between it and the house. Yesterday was a high as I have ever seen the water.
DeleteWow, I sure hope you get some dry weather soon!
ReplyDeleteSome years we have droughts. I guess this is just the year of the rain!
DeleteWe have had so much rain and our farmers are baling hay like crazy. Much is being shipped to drought areas to help them.
ReplyDeleteThe sun is out for a minute today so I guess I need to run out and pick whatever did not get beaten to death by the rain yesterday
DeleteI'd make that trade! The only good thing is the lake place that has had high water for going on 7 years, is receding and there is a little bit of the beachy area we used to have. Its great for dogs and kids not to have to walk through mud before hitting eater.
ReplyDeleteOh some beach area is great!
DeleteI'd definitely make that trade. Though we are getting light rain today (I think I counted 6 spits of rain on my window) and it has cooled off considerably. I'm enjoying the cooler, fresh air through the open windows.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are at least cool. I would share some of this wetness if I could.
DeleteOur whole Province is tinder dry and many fires on the mainland. We have been lucky on Vancouver Island so far, a couple of small fires that they've been able to get out. Share some of your rain! Your Mom's house is looking great by the way, I just caught up your past few posts. I definitely think the changes you are making will have it sell quickly!
ReplyDeleteWe are just about a wet as it is possible and still walk around without gills!
DeleteThanks but no thanks. This is the first decent week we've had in months!
ReplyDeleteWe had about 45 minutes of sunshine this morning and I felt obligated to get out and enjoy it.
DeleteWe've had an extremely wet summer too. Everything is MUCH greener than it'd normally be in July. Which is nice. Wish we could ship some of our water west, though -- they need it much more than we do.
ReplyDeleteYes they do need it!
DeleteAnd we could so use it. Woke this morning to thunder storms of course they were dry and more fires in our future.
ReplyDeleteI would send some if I could!
DeleteThere comes a point when it feels like nothing is dry and won't ever be again. I hate it when it's like that, fortunately just a day or two of good sun and breeze makes a difference
ReplyDeleteIt looks like excessive heat and sun is about to happen. I am looking forward to it!
DeleteIt rained today. Again.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Bummer!
