The Bard said it best in his play "Twelfth Night"
"If music be the food of love, play on"
Let's skew his meaning a bit and see just where the love of food and the love of music takes us.
Wow. In days gone by I used to save the wrapping paper and repurpose it by making my own paper. I am tooooo lazy this year. I hope your orgy of unwrapping was a heap of fun.
We had gifts from Sweden and I did save that paper. The rest went into the recycling bin. I think this year I am going to stock up on fabrics and make wrapping cloths.
Oh, yes! The wrapping paper aftermath! LOL! I am another person who saves and reuses wrapping paper (and ribbons and bows, etc.)! I can imagine just what a culture shock your DIL3 had!
I save the ribbons, bows and boxes, but I am all about sticking the paper in recycling! I think it was shocking because we have no Christmas rules, except to enjoy and enjoy each other.
You are very imaginative to photograph this part of the Christmas tradition! Nice thought, about those who made the effort to create beautiful packaging, still appreciated.
Hey y'all thanks for leaving a comment. They are much appreciated. I read them all and do my best to respond to them, except for trolls, spam, and AI. I delete those suckers forever.
Wow.

It was much fun, and a culture shock to our DIL.
DeleteWe've saved some wrapping paper and recycled some. Now I'm trying to figure out if I want to brave the stores to stock up some more for next year.

DeleteI hope everyone enjoyed their gifts!
ReplyDeleteWe have a lot of presents but I wrap things like a pound of favorite coffee or a jar of dried mushrooms so a lot of "gifts" are extremely consumable.
DeleteMerry Christmas Anne!
ReplyDeleteAs I have learned from my DIL "Good Continuation"
DeleteMerry Christmas! That looks very familiar. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, the gift giving aftermath! "Good Continuation"

DeleteNot sending gifts led to not needing wrapping paper. Very easy Christmas.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Glad you had an easy day!

ReplyDeletebe safe... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
I think the photo sums up the immediate after of Christmas morning.
DeleteI spent 4 1/2 hours wrapping gifts one day and then about an hour another day!
